How clear are you?

There is lots of talk about this being the first week of the new ’term’. How has it gone for you?

From a resilience perspective, I am a big fan of the phrase ‘ride the wave don’t fight it’; however, purposefully planning your way ahead can help you avoid the big waves that suck you under altogether!

So how clear are you? Is this ‘term’ mapped out to help you do what you need to do? Or do you risk getting sucked in to the inevitable day to day activity and distractions.

Now is a good time to go back to basics and take time to think:

–       What is your big goal?

–       What do you need to have completed by Christmas to ensure that is progressing? And importantly can you articulate how you want things to look and feel by then?

–       What can only you do to make that happen?

–       Are your team and stakeholders clear on the goal and their role in it? How are you going to create the conditions for them to succeed?

–       As you look at your diary, what is distracting you from making the above happen? What are you going to do about that?

As leaders, we can show our people that we are role modelling the changes that all of us want to see. Let’s be better and be the change – contact [email protected] if you would like help to do so.
