Welcome back post the festive period and like me you have probably be inundated with posts and conversations about reflections on 2025 and having plans in place for 2026.
For all of you perfectionists out there, you may empathise with the feelings that it generated in me, which ranged from a subtle to an overwhelming pressure to ‘I must do that too’ and ‘have I done that right’ depending on my resilience levels that day!
So, I decided to take a step back, to take the pressure off, and be slightly non-conformist, which for those of you who know me, may be a surprise to hear!
I decided to be kind to myself and ask myself simply ‘what are you doing’?
Now what I thought was a simple question turned into a bigger one (doh!).
I share in case you find it helpful, in and of itself, or supplementing any thinking you may have already done.
So, take time to think:
- What are you doing? Why?
- How will what you are doing now benefit you/ your organisation in ten years?
- What elements of what you are doing make you happy and why?
- Does what you are doing align with who you want to be?
- What if any changes do you want to make as a result?
Happy New Year everyone!
